Leap

If in the morning as you wake up
you find the world begins to sway...
I will be here

leap,
I'll land beside you

If the sun drags clouds past your dreams
and tucks its light behind the face of shadows...
I will be here

leap,
I'll land beside you

If as you walk to the place where you dare
and see only the morphing void before you...
I will be here

leap,
I'll land beside you

If a million voices claw at you
and yesterday has past you by...
I will be here

leap,
I'll land beside you

If as you sleep your demons torment
and peace has fallen from the throne...
I will be here

leap,
I'll land beside you

Because when I fell from everything
and my stars shattered on the floor
you
oh my Man...
you were there.

I leapt
you landed beside me.

~ for Matt, the man who leaps. I will be here.  Miss you. Come home soon. I know you are reading this :)

What about you? Who was there? Have they shaped you?

  3. Just a sec....there seems to be something in my eyes...

This is beautiful, Tab. So gentle and loving, so sweet. And I thought it was neat that you know he'll be reading it. I think you made eeryone who reads this this morning happy.

As for me? When I leap, I leap alone. To borrow from Joni Mitchell, it's the judgement of the moon and stars, my solitary path.

  16. Beautiful poem! I liked the picture too. It made me want to run and leap off cliffs into snow banks as I used to do when I was a child.

  23. Tabitha, your posts break my heart, and I am willing (to quote mary oliver).

Hmmm. Soulmates have covered my blind side for YEARS. It's interesting you posted this today as Pam is teaching our Bible study tonight since dufus here double-booked.

One of my life's greatest blessings is those who leap in front of me, then reach back, grab my hand, then cover me with their protection.

    Sigh.........
